Can JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics perform Bi-Directional vehicle tests such as Cylinder Cut-Off tests ?
Bi-Directional Tests are supported in the following modules:
    • JPRO® Heavy-Duty Command Module – Mack and Volvo
      • The following tests are supported for Mack and Volvo EPA07, EPA10 and EPA13 engines:
        • Cylinder Cut-Off
        • DPF Service Regen
        • Learned Data Reset
      • The following Parameters can be set:
        • Cruise Max and Min Speeds
        • Road Speed Limit
        • Idle Shutdown Time
        • Enable or Disable Cruise Control
    • JPRO® Heavy-Duty Command Module – Cummins
      • The following tests are supported for 2002-2016 Cummins Engines:
        • Cylinder Cut-Off ( EPA 02- 13 all ISB, ISC, ISL, ISM and ISX)
        • DPF Service Regen( EPA 07 – 13 all ISB, ISC, ISL, ISM and ISX)
        • Trip Reset( EPA 07 – EPA 13 all ISB, ISC, ISL, ISM and ISX)
        • Fuel Injector Reset (EPA 13 all ISB, ISL, and ISX)
        • Aftertreatment Reset ( EPA 07 – 13 all ISB, ISC, ISL, ISM and ISX)
        • Fuel System Leakage Test (Cummins EPA 10 and 13 Common Rail Fuel Systems)
    • JPRO® Heavy-Duty Command Module – Detroit
      • The following tests are supported for Detroit engines:
        • Cylinder Cut-Off (EPA 2000 – 2014 all Series 50, 55, 60, DD13, DD15, and DD16)
        • DPF Service Regen (EPA 07 -13 all DDEC VI Series 60, DD13, DD15 and DD16)
        • DPF Ash Accumulator Reset (EPA 10 -13 for all DD13, DD15, and DD16)
        • SCR System – Output Component Test (EPA 10 – 13 for all DD13, DD15, and DD16)
        • SCR ADS Self Check (EPA 13 all DD13, DD15, and DD16)
    • JPRO® Medium-Duty Command Module – GM
      • Supports cylinder cutouts on all diesel and gasoline engines on years 2002-2013 (except in GM vehicles with CAT engines).
    • JPRO® Medium-Duty Command Module – Sprinter
      • Supports EPA 07 Diesel Engine tests:
        • Cylinder Cut-Off
        • Compression Test
        • DPF Regen
        • Injector Quantity Adjustment
        • Mass Air Flow Sensor Initialization
        • Initialize Rail Pressure
    • Supports Instrument Cluster (2007-2015) tests:
      • Oil Change Reset
      • Display Dimmer Test Routine
      • Gauge Sweep Test
      • LCD Display Test Routine
      • Speaker Test Routine
      • Tire Pressure Monitor tire pressure sensor test

Due to security and safety concerns, JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics does not allow you to perform vehicle tests other than those noted above. If you need to perform vehicle tests you will need to use the OEM application.

Can JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics adjust user-configurable parameters such as road speeds or idle shutdown settings?
JPRO® Heavy-Duty Command Module – Mack and Volvo allows user to configure the following parameters for Mack and Volvo EPA07, EPA10 and EPA13 engines:
      • Cruise Max and Min Speeds
      • Road Speed Limit
      • Idle Shutdown Time
      • Enable or Disable Cruise Control

Due to security and safety concerns, JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics does not allow you to alter parameters other than those listed above . If you require adjustments to vehicle parameters you will need to use the OEM application.

What OEM applications come with JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics?

JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics does not come with any bundled OEM software applications, however, OEM software may be purchased at the time a JPRO Fleet Service Kit order is placed.

Does JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics include any troubleshooting manuals?

JPRO® Next Step Module:

  • Allows the user to view Mitchell 1 troubleshooting information for a particular engine fault with a single click within JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics.
  • Automatically links to troubleshooting guides for Wabco, Bendix and Haldex brakes as well as Eaton transmissions.

Additionally, JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics will search your PC for installed OEM troubleshooting manuals and these will be available for viewing directly within the application.

Can JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics clear Fault Codes?

Yes, JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics has the ability to clear both active and inactive fault codes. JPRO®Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics can also clear a single selected fault code.

Can JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics perform ECU reprogramming?

Due to security and safety concerns, JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics does not allow you to reprogram ECUs. If you require ECU reprogramming you will need to use the OEM application.

Do I need OEM software in order for JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics to work?

No other applications are required to make JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics work. If other OEM applications are installed JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics will automatically locate these applications and make them available for launching from within JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics.

If I have OEM software why do I need JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics?

JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics allows you to see the general health of the vehicle, all components on the vehicle, any active or inactive faults and the ability to clear them, and key data points all on one screen without the need to open an OEM application. You can also launch any installed troubleshooting manuals or installed OEM applications directly from within JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics.

How does JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics diagnose aftertreatment issues?

JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics allows you to see the overall health of the aftertreatment system in one simple screen. The user can easily see values such as Soot Level, DPF Lamp status, Engine derate as it relates to Aftertreatment and current Regen Status. For supported Cummins and Detroit Diesel engines the user can launch a DPF Regeneration test from the aftertreatment screen.

What kind of computer do I need to run JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics?

Noregon recommends using a Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 or Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 but JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics will work on any current PC running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.

Does JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics work on a PC running Windows 10?

JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics will work on any PC running Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10. If you are experiencing any difficulties with JPRO™ after upgrading to Windows 10, contact us for support.

Does JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics support OBD II?

OBD II support is available for the following:Ford 2004 and newer E-series and F-series vehicles using our JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics — Ford ModuleGM 2002-2011 half ton through 8500 series vehicles using our JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics — GM Module

What is the default location for saved log files?

JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics stores log files by default in the C:\JPRO Logs\ folder.

Can I look at the data in the log files?

Data from log files cannot be viewed using a simple text editor since the data is stored in HEX format. To view log file data you will need to use the playback function from within JPRO® Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics. See your included User’s Guide for more information on using the playback function.
